Text renders incorrectly, tilted and uneven.

Recommended Posts

I can't say when this bug first appeared, but I can't shake it to save my life. This is on a fresh install, one of many made while trying to troubleshoot this issue. I've booted from steam, without steam, restarted, etc. I have found very little (1-2 threads) about this issue and while it is certainly not game breaking, it is getting increasingly annoying. Here is a screenshot showing the incorrect text effects. Not all text is like this, but most is.

This happens when you use openGL as well, it was "fixed" on Linux and OSX by editing the pixel offsets by hand, but as openGL and Dx11 modes are not supported on Windows it's unlikely this will be addressed, sorry.

Also notice your mission control background is missing...

Lol yeah I derped, it's the craft launch dialogue, but please try removing "-force-opengl" or "-force-d3d11" if you're using them, and check your KSP.log, if it says it's using the openGL renderer on Windows then it's likely you need to check your graphics driver.

If you've just updated it, don't forget to reboot.

I am not running the game in OpenGL or DX11, the game is running in DX9. I was running the -popupwindow through steam in some of these trials, but it did not make a difference for the bug at all.

Looking through the log it appears KSP is running in DX11, but I do not have any launch commands to set it that way, as again it is completely stock. I've gone between adding and removing the -popupwindow launch command in the steam settings for some of these trials, but that is about it. Is there anyway I can force DX9?

Here you go, thanks for taking the time to look into this. Not a pressing bug by any means, just a stupid one.

Again the game appears to be running in DX11 after all, but I have never told it to. Starting to think this might be a driver issue or something, don't know what else could be forcing DX11.

Could be the driver yes, your dxdiag log might tell us more, and you can try forcing Dx9 with the "-force-d3d9" command line argument, the easiest way to use this on Windows is to make a shortcut to KSP and add that line to the properties, target box I think.

I suspect your driver has some global options, and is set to use Dx11 system wide.
