I am making a real time capsule that I am going to bury that includes

1 penny

1 dime

1 nickel

1 quarter

1 1$ bill

1 flashdrive with 20 pictures (which you choose) (Appropriate please) as well as a copy of today's news and a copy of KSP 1.0.4.

1 page with recent historical events and my info

1 page with disclaimers

This will be buried in 4 months, as well as the thread, until that date in 2020.

Suggest a picture and maybe even a good poem or two about current times!

Or anything else that is under 500mb.

Thanks!

Kendall

A poem. And you better include this at the beginning if you use it:

"Written by Flymetothemun of the KSP Forums"

"New Horizons"

Vehicles in space, on air, and ground,

What wondrous things that they have found.

New lands and goods in days of old,

To be colonized and civilized, to be bought and sold.

First came the wheel, inventor unknown,

But what a seed that inventor has sown.

The boat was also invented by an unknown hand,

but his invention discovered new, fantastic lands.

New horizons were discovered on the rocky sea,

Of course, some of those horizons made you and me.

The cart sprung from the wheel, a humble craft,

Made of little material from the fore to the aft.

Many more years, chariots, wagons, and cars,

wheels have even been in the heavens on the Moon and on Mars.

Soon came the plane, anti-gravity of sorts,

A truce with Gravity was signed, and came the creation of airports.

A new horizon was added to man's bag of tricks,

He could go much faster, and sail over the land, the sea, the obstructive trees with sticks.

Like the boat, the rocket discovered new, fantastic lands,

Only this time we know of the inventor's hands.

Robert H. Goddard was his name,

but his was surpassed by others of fame.

The rocket operated in the atmosphere at first,

but it has been shown that that wasn't it's worst.

Mercury, Apollo, Nike, and Zeus,

with gravity Man had signed another truce.

All of the horizons on Earth were on chart,

So the new horizons of space were the place to start.

The rocket came to Orbit first,

but it persisted and persisted like an ancient tomb's curse.

Trans-Lunar Injection was the next step of the game,

and Landers soon brought 3 men great fame.

Landers would bring great fame again and again,

just as long as pumps would pump and liquid engines ran.

Landers have been sent to the Moon and to Mars,

Satellites dance and waltz with the stars.

Space junk and old hardware abounds and abounds,

but there is no janitor to make the rounds.

Landers soon brought an old, trusted friend,

A new car called a Rover was the means to an end.

The end was new Scientific discovery and innovation,

New things to help peoples of all nations.

Rovers were sent to the moon and mars,

The men who drive them are the unknown stars.

But now, something new, something difficult is here,

The story travels from ear to ear.

A satellite has been sent, not to Mars or the Moon,

It had to get to a further place, and it would get there soon.

New Horizons is her name, and it really does fit,

With the ships and the vehicles that came before it.

It started with Sputnik, but more have come,

And now New Horizons is on it's run.

It has gone to Pluto, and will go places more,

It may be like Voyager and have much more in store.

Many beautiful images have also been sent,

And from it to us via radio they've went.

New things, new science, new goods, new lands,

These have all been discovered and powered by Human hands.

Innovation and Technology was there from the start,

Of all human invention it is the heart.

And as long as Humanity explores the Universe day by day,

Science and Technology may it never betray.

I agree, 5 years is rather short. Personally I'd go for at least 25 to 50 years.

Well, the guy lives in Nebraska. I've been to Nebraska. It's flatter than a frying pan and just as boring. 5 years is PLENTY. He probably wants to get out of there as soon as possible, and I don't blame him.

What about something like : "2015 was a time when no one seemed to be able to communicate without being sarcastic, cynical, and spreading confusion. Let's see if communication gets back to a more candid state in 2020."

yup but zucker zoidberg promised telepaty for everyone soon so it's cool ... as "explained" elsewhere it won't please "liars" ... if lying to other is more or less easy lying to yourself is harder as it's called "selfdeny" and as hint if one is part of the telepaty process show the other is not ; )

So all hail telepathy for everyone xDr and be rdy to say bye bye to a large amount of dumbassholes soon exposed to everyone ... you made your time and now we're tired of your silliness so time to share the trick due to boredom ; ) lot of fun incoming guaranted be rdy inc inc ; ) ; ) ; )

tumblr_ng7pvi5Djq1spetago3_500.gif

it's "kinda" more or less spreading like this model "slowly" but surely ; ) have fun with history wip(e) without any mercy for patented liars it's that simple and good for everyone long term

Digital:

Copy of the front page of Wikipedia and all linked articles from the day of burial (or thereabouts).

Wine suitable for aging (most commercial wines are not suitable and will get funky after a year or two).

A list of videos from the "Popular in US" category in Youtube, to show what we were watching as a country.

Physical:

Bottle caps in case the nuclear apocalypse occurs (some lone wanderer might be able to use them).

A treasury bond or other item that accumulates value when forgotten.

If you've got any kids in the family, a pair of their shoes so they can see how they have grown.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
