Modular torus pieces?

Recommended Posts

The concept of a rotating Torus like design seems very common in Sci-Fi (and Science Fantasy) - But vanilla KSP doesn't really have anything like it (without some clever use of manually attached and rotated parts)

Are there any mods that add torus pieces that are modular? Or at least have several sizes to choose from? Just fuselages - I don't need any real functionality. I just want to create donut spaceships and stations. :)

I've found one that does the job to some extent - "Nasa IXS Warp-ship", except the "core" of the torus is solid.

Hi Mansen,

Manually attached and rotated parts are pretty much the way to go unfortunately - the larger it is, the less you notice the straight lines around the torus you make. It would be great if someone was able to come up with curved segments of such as the FusTek Station Parts currently being worked on by Sumghai.

In terms of parts, whilst no modular torus parts exist (or if they do let me know!), the best and most user friendly (I think) centrifuge part to create the spin itself is from Angel -125 DSEV mod. I just remove all the extra parts not needed.

For complete toruses ready to go:

Also, you could try PorkJet's habitat pack

Or Lack's Mk2 Centrifuge

Peace.
