No interier textures with Mk1 Inline cockpit and Science LAB if directory contain chinese characters

Recommended Posts

KSP version:

Kerbal Space Program - 1.0.4.861 (WindowsPlayer)

OS: Windows 8.1 (6.3.9600) 64bit

CPU: Intel® Core i5-4200H CPU @ 2.80GHz (4)

RAM: 8076

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M (1991MB)

SM: 30 (Direct3D 9.0c [nvd3dum.dll 10.18.13.5330])

RT Formats: ARGB32, Depth, ARGBHalf, RGB565, Default, DefaultHDR, ARGBFloat, RGFloat, RGHalf, RFloat, RHalf, R8

What happens: Missing interior textures of Mk1 Inline cockpit and Mobile Processing Lab MPL-LG-2, which also makes all the windows Opaque.

I've done some googling but the result from different version seems a little confusing.

The Wiki says the Mk1 Inline Cockpit: 1.0 Remodeled, proper IVA added. Then I suppose there is something wrong with my KSP?

This is same with MPL on wiki: "The Lab does provide IVA as of the 1.0 update"

Other IVAs have no problem seemingly. Though it doesn't greatly affect my game play but still makes it a little bit annoying. Is there any way to fix this or I'm misunderstanding anything?

Appreciate any help in advance.

edit:

It seems to be caused by non-english character in the directory path ( Chinese in my case ). Which can be easily fix by rename the path. It should still be fixed or warn the players, though.

Hello, sal_vager thanks for your suggestion. You actually inspired me with my little experiment.

I bought the game directly from the store on the website. I redownload it again and found it executed without problem on desktop. Then I move whole KSP folder into my gaming directory, the bug struck again. Which reminds me another bug I've encounter with a image process software called hugin.

Nevertheless, I rename my directory, make it english-character only, and BOOM! Everything is fixed!

My gaming directory used to contain Chinese path, e.g. D:軟é«â€/ksp-win-1-0-4/... That seems to cause the problem.

This is probably definately a bug I would say. Though it might not be that inportant since the texture of these two module are the only one that's affected I've seen so far, it would be nice to be noted somewhere like in the wiki.
