Turn on RCS thrust for a period of time

Recommended Posts

Greetings, Kerbonauts!

I have a question according to the RCS. Let's say I have a probe, with one rcs thruster (Linear port) for translation purposes (early stage game). The problem is a time of "burn" needed to apply dV I needed to put the probe on the specific orbit. So, I have two questions:

- is it possible to "toggle" thruster to work without continuing press of the button.

- time warp. Does the physical warp will work? (don't have KSP to test it now) And if it does not, are there any way to do so?

Any mods that do the job are welcome! ))

No, RCS is always activated by pressing a button down. There is the monoprop engine which works as an engine controlled by the throttle but uses monoprop.

RCS will still be usable under physics timewarp

MechJeb will, if it cannot otherwise use main engines, attempt to perform manoeuvres using RCS thrusters (assuming the RCS system is enabled) - but otherwise, as above.

You could try using trim to apply the thrust. You'd deactivate the RCS thruster (by it's right click menu), then spool up it's trim axis to full, then activate the thruster again for as long as needed.

Yes, but trim=rotations. Gonna have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get thatto eork for a burn.
