Here is something you wouldn't see in KSP...But I gotta get your guys opinions.

Is it possible to sink components to the bottom of the sea and have them stable? Also do parts stay in persistence when they\'re on (or under) water?

It\'s an interesting idea though and one i\'d support if it\'s possible.

Sinking, I don\'t think so. As for a floating city in the ocean, I\'m all for it.

You actually can sink parts!

Here\'s how it happened to me:

Launched CSS shuttle.

Boosters broke off by my doing.

One flipped upside down and plowed into the ocean.

Went to the bottom, stopped firing, didn\'t come back up.

Drove a boat out the next mission, found it underwater, still pointing vertically.

Sounds more like it got stuck in the mud.

Someone has already built a submarine so it definately works.

I\'m hoping I can build a floating oil rig piece by piece (with docking) one day and use that to boost my resources in the campaign. One day.

There is so much water on Kerbin. The needs to be an in-game way to utilise it.

Because the water in KSP is so dense, parts need to have an awful lot of momentum to move even slightly underneath it. That momentum is what causes things to explode when they hit bottom. You\'d need some insanely strong parts to act as legs.
