[Ancient History] Battle of Cannae

Today marks 2231 years since the Battle of Cannae, The Roman republics worst military defeat.

50 thousand men under Hannibal Barca of Carthage crushed over 85 thousand Roman soldiers.

So for anyone interested I thought I would share an episode of a show I watched when I was about 12, one that helped spark my interest in history. Some of you here I have befriended on steam because of our mutual love of historical strategy games.

And here is a neato .gif of the battle as well.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday!

Oh hey, ty R4ptor, i'l put this on a "to be seen" list, I've heard of this show...

But my one annoyance with a lot of this historical battle documentaries is that they often prefer the "evenly matched" kind of battles over the epics (a group of nobodies defeats an empire despite pitifully small odds type things)... Seriously when's the last time you've seen the great sieges of Rhodes and Malta or the maccabees etc.

Continue to post here when you find interesting stuff.

edit: enjoy your day too !
