There's a memorial to the original MK1 command pod next to the VAB, I say it looks close enough to the original.

Why them? Why not one to the 7 dead of Challenger, or Columbia? or the 3 of Soyuz 11? All those arguable did much more than whoever that Gus guy is.

I agree with you a memorial for just White, Chafee and Grissom is not a good idea. If there is ever going to be another memorial easter egg it should be a generic one.

What I don't get is that you don't know who Gus Grissom was. He was the second American to ever fly in space and the first to fly in space twice.
