I am not sure what the exact DV is for the Chipmunk. It has no problem with 100 kilometer orbits around Kerbin and reentry without re-fueling (with a competent pilot). The Chipmunk could 'probably' go as high as 300 kilometers and return without refueling but I have not tried it.

What a lovely little spaceplane! Looks like most of the lift is coming from the body, not the wings. There's no way those little tiny things could generate that much lift!

I have no idea how it actually flies with the tiny wings that it has, but somehow it does!
