Engines not cooling

Recommended Posts

Hello there!

First of all, I've tried to open an issue in the Squad Bugtracker but after four tries I didn't receive the activation e-mail, so I'll post it here.

OS & Wine:

OS: GNU/Linux Mint 17.2 (64-bit)

Wine version: 1.7.49

Game: Fresh install

Problem: It seems to be an issue with the engines not beeing able to cool down.

The case is that at the moment the overheating bar appears it won't decrease its value, ever. If the throttle is at 0% it will stop increasing the overheat but won't come down, and if the throttle is slightly above 0% it'll still increase the overheating bar.

How to reproduce: Having the same OS can help (that doesn't seem to happen in Windows). Also it doesn't matter if I use the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of KSP.

Build a rocket, in my case I build one with the following parts:

  • 1x Stayputnik Mk1
  • 1 Advanced Reaction Wheel Module, Large (for stability)
  • 4x Rockomax Jumbo-64 Fuel Tank (to give time to the engine to overheat)
  • 4x AV-R8 Winglets (for control)
  • 1x RE-M3 "Mainsail" Liquid Engine (to overheat it)

Any ideas, workarounds known for this issue?
