Hiding or moving singular parts of the UI

Hi all,

With the delays in 1.1 and the Unity and GUI updates is anyone interested in looking at moving or removing only the staging icons. I'm not sure it is even possible.

Peace.

I was wondering if there was a mod that would let you move or remove any of the UI, such as moving or removing the engine and staging icons and fuel gauges from the left side of the screen, but leaving the rest? Perhaps like a limited F2 option?

If not, is it possible? And would someone be willing to make it?

If not removing staging icons, then perhaps running them along the top of the screen (moving the altimeter in the process and having the fuel gauges come out below the icons.) Ultimately what it could be used for (besides personal preferences) is creating a clear frame across your display for recording cinematics and so on, while still having all information available to controlling your craft.

I know that Enhanced Navball allows scaling and moving the navball about, but I'm looking for the other graphic items.

Thanks and Peace.

Wider Contracts App does this sort of UI trickery, although the goal is to change the size, rather than removing UI elements. However, the same concepts should apply.

The massive caveat though is that this will change a fair bit with the under the hood UI rework that is happening. So until 1.1 drops, I wouldn't even consider anything along these lines.

Thanks for the reply Cliftonm and nightingale. When I posted it I realised it at the time that it was only a monthish before a major update. I just wondered if it was something reasonable straightforward - or even possible, but if any mods will break in the Unity 5 update I'm guessing it is ones which use guis or make changes to the screen layout. If the post goes quiet I will bump it post 1.1.

Peace.

I'm really scared of the Unity 5 update. One of the worst parts is the fact that it looks like they are going to change the classes, like ALOT. The reason they'll have to do that, is some of the things that they have been using are pre Unity 3.

Yea. I'm a fairly mid range mod user but even so I always update ASAP and work around mod bugs. This time I'm a little hesitant as I'm sure mods will most certainly take a wee bit more time.

Peace.

Bump. Because of delays to the 1.1 update and denotes giving a feeling that it still could be some time.

Peace.

The delay doesn't change anything unfortunately. It's not going to be that big of a delay. Its hard to justify spending a lot of time developing an all new mod that likely will need an entire re-write in the next version, even if that version is a month or two away.

I completely agree. That's why I haven't started any plugins lately. (Or updated them)
