How do I edit the save file?

Hello,

I do not know how to edit the save file in KSP. I assume it is persistent.sfs, all of which I have located but cannot open on my computer (Mac OSX 10.8.5, KSP 1.0.4 from Steam). How do I open the files?

If you can find the file in Finder, left-click on the file once to select it, then go File \ Open With \ Text Editor ... and if Text Editor is not showing, select Other... and pick Text Editor. If you're using a mouse, you can right-click and do the same via the context menu.
