Math and science skills as adults are protective

Math is a logical thing that follows specific steps. Now, certain things in math can be done in different ways. But it's about logic. And it is undoubtedly useful.

Science permeates our everyday lives. Just 30 years ago a computer couldn't do as much as a modern one. Thirty years before that, computer lab were huge. And 30 years from now, the machines we use will be left in the dust. Scientific research is what caused that rate of development. A lot of people fail to realize that.

We're also living in a world where text-based communication is probably more common than verbal. And often, people are using phone-sized devices that are 10x slower for typing out messages than a keyboard. There's no way that proper writing etiquette isn't going to take a beating from this, unless direct-thought input devices take over real soon.

A genuinly bad idea, and BTW i've stuck here on a friggen ipad for almost a week, and is almost unbelievable how bad my typos are, where do these things come from? Yeah writing, punctuatio, etc, doomed.

The sad thing is, we had beautiful phones with wonderful keyboards. Somehow, somewhere, something went wrong, and phones without physical keyboards and without tactile feedback won out.

You want to maximize screen size while holding the overall phone size down. a full keyboard wit usable keys is large, you can not just put it on an flimsy cover like you do on tablets as you have to be able to use it standing. Only phones who had decent keyboards was the old nokia comunicators and thye was bricks.

Thats a consequence of the current drive towards thinner and lighter. They sacrifice precious battery life to save a milimeter of thickness, what chance does a keyboard have? That said, you can buy cases with keyboards, so its not a total loss.
