Contract : put a scan in not polar orbit ?

I've got a contract that ask me to put a survey scan in a mun orbit, good thing.

If you have already use the scan, you know it only work in polar orbit, so why do the contract ask me a near equator orbit ?

I mean it's really tricky for newbie to ask them to "use" the scan in the wrong way...

Weird, but the contract generator does things like this because it doesn't have a reality check.

Contract does not require you to scan, but merely have scanner on the satellite. You may assume the agency who gave it knows why they want it

Yes, they don't ask to scan, but you'll lunch a scan probe, so it's the same...

I've failed my 1st attempt to use the scan (not a polar orbit, noob mistake), so it would by good the contract with a scan show you how to use it, and don't try to trick you.
