Virus waning, Norton reports virus in latest version of kerbal alarm clock.

Recommended Posts

The latest version (3.4.0.0) is from June 27, and nobody else has had any problems with it in the last 3 months.

Where did you download it from? Github, Curse, Kerbal Stuff?

What filename and exact file size?

I just checked all three, and got "KerbalAlarmClock_3.4.0.0.zip" from Curse/Github or "Kerbal_Alarm_Clock-3.4.0.0.zip" from KerbalStuff. All three were 1,407,340 bytes and have the same content:

c699cc91b9d195c1b79988b164622454 *Kerbal_Alarm_Clock-3.4.0.0.zip

c699cc91b9d195c1b79988b164622454 *KerbalAlarmClock_3.4.0.0 (1).zip

c699cc91b9d195c1b79988b164622454 *KerbalAlarmClock_3.4.0.0.zip

All three were virus-free.

No problems here, Also Virustotal proves its 100% clean. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/9951e119713686950335c7702176df9e98775223275f30708e724cf7de3e587e/analysis/1442588330/

You should just uninstall norton as its doing more damage to your system than good. Apprently norton kept detecting "viruses" in programs I wrote although the false postives are nowhere near as bad as avira. Avira detected all of the C# programs I coded myself as trojans.

Check what Norton actually reports. Many antivirus programs will make detections like "Exploit/Generic", basically meaning it's not a known virus but the antivirus software regards it as suspicious. Increasingly antivirus programs are using a "reputation" system which means that programs from big corporations get waved through but lesser known programs get falsely accused of being malware.
