The Kerbal Dynamics BAT, five of the elite Kerbal pilots, have thrown down a challenge to you. If you can beat the BAT, you get to live. If not... well, you don't.

The Berkut Aerobatics Team is Team A. You are Team B.

The BAT takes off from the grass next to the runway. You take off from the runway. Your challenge is to defeat the BAT.

By popular demand, here's the .craft file for the SU-37 Berkut.

Challenge Rules:

Game version: 1.0.2

Standard aero model.

BAT Flight will take off from the grass area beside the runway in staggered formation, heading North.

Challenge Flight will take off from the runway heading East.

BDArmory is absolutely REQUIRED for this challenge as all aircraft will be controlled by it.

Propulsion MUST be in the form of airbreathing jets. Rockets not permitted. Rapier-based designs MUST carry 0.0 oxidiser.

Structural mods allowed: Firespitter, KASA, KWRocketry, NearFuture Propulsion, NearFuture Electrical.

Banned BDArmoury weapons: Goalkeeper CIWS, Abrams Cannon, M102, Millennium Cannon, ABL Laser

Countermeasures: anything goes, let's see how good your chaff spam is!

Arming Up:

There will be a points system so abuse of chaff is less of a possibility.

Points cap per challenge aircraft is 50 points.

Missiles are 4 points each.

Guns are 7 points each.

Chaff and flares are 5 points each.

Ammo cans: 3 points each.

Running the Gauntlet:

Post your .craft file and I'll run it against the BAT. Video will be posted to Youtube and linked here.

(Challenger's Note: showcasing my AWACS run against BAT Flight,

sorry the video's 36 minutes long; I can't remember how to decimate the capture).

EDIT: let me see if I can hack it in.

EDIT: yes, I can. OK next step, will it fly in the standard aero model? (I notice you have FAR, this may yet not work)

Strange. I'm away from my laptop so can you check in the SPH if the chaff is enabled? Like, go and right click on it, and see is there's an x or a check. If an X, right click it, then you;re ready,

[bUMP] My son sent me a craft file of something he thinks night beat the Berkuts, it's a bit F16-y with some serious TWR, no missiles and just one inboard gun. I'll post the video in the morning - assuming I can get it to fly (and I think he forgot to add chaff/flares, I'll sort that out for him, nice guy I am ;) )

Looking at this... OP, are you sure you want to do a challenge video with 6 planes? It really doesn't look like your computer can handle 6 planes, much less record it.

Edit: Also, craft file for the berkut would be nice, for testing purposes.

The DF-74 is way better armed than my plane. I just stuck two guns and tow of each countermeasure on the front.

I actually ran a few bouts with my DF-74 against your Debt and your Debt gave my girl a bit of a headache a few times .. I won 3-2 but just barely

But in one you blasted off my wing but she kept flying straight ... well, sort'a straight lol

Yes, it can, the lag results from the capture software demanding a core to itself so I have to timelapse the capture, finding the balance between frame jumps and getting a smoother video is problematic at best and depends on the challenge craft and I have personal issues right now that absolutely have to take priority, so for now the uploads are on hold.

Consistently pull 8+ G's (have maxed the G meter in a dive from 20,000m)

Turns on a dime no matter the speed

ooh, another forward sweep wing. This is gonna be interesting...

Thanx, although you forgot a Mod that is needed to load your .craft into KSP ...... KAX (Kerbal Aircraft Expansion)

Imma gonna run some bouts 1v1 with all the .crafts posted so far

EDIT: To the OP, your .craft breaks your own rules

You have 2 missiles, 2 guns, 4 ammo cans, 6 chaff and 6 flares ... This added up is 94

So I ran the Debt against my DF-74 with guns only ... Video is HERE

The Debt went down with Valentina at the helm but she survived on one wing for 2/3rds of the match and somehow Jebediah died in the cockpit of my DF-74

Gonna do the same with the BAT ... Guns only

EDIT: So I ran the BAT against my DF-74 Falcon with guns only ... Video is HERE

The BAT started off strong by shooting off one of my engines, however, Jeb held it together and the Falcon was victorious

EDIT: So I ran the BAT against the Debt with guns only ... Video is HERE

The BAT was decimated
