Communotron 88-88 stuck "uploading data..."

Recommended Posts

So I put a science lab in orbit around Minimus. I have ~200 science in the lab, I hit "Transmit Science", the antenna open us and... that's it. It says "uploading data..." but it's not draining power. Hitting "Abort" changes it to "aborting transmission...", but it stays open forever.

I've tried going back to space center and then back, it just stays stuck open and unable to work.

The craft has ~2000 electricity available.

When I try to upload science experiments they just disappear.

For example, I observed mysterious goo, hit upload, the goo became "used" but nothing was uploaded, when I hit "clean experiment" it was cleaned again. So the antenna just ate the data and stayed stuck.

Time warping doesn't seem to help.

I'm not using any antenna related mods. The station itself is using stock parts only.

Try transmitting some more data? I've occasionally gotten the antenna stuck in the extended position, but I've found that transmitting more data, even if it's empty of science, works to fix it.

Edit: Wait, I think you said you tried that though.

When I go to the space center and back to the station it starts uploading data, I've tried this experiment several times.

It uploads 2 batches of data, no science is gained, no message about anything once it reaches 100%, it just uploads 2 batches and then gets stuck.

I've now also tried hitting "Stop transmitting", it says "aborting transmission..." (and nothing changes).

But when I go to the space center and back to the ship again, it's back to "Uploading data...".

The picture is a screenshot of AFTER I hit "Stop transmitting", went to space center and back. Doing this multiple times doesn't seem to help.

The station is at 500 capacity, I'd much need and like that huge pile of science. If I could extract it, put it in the docked escape pod (meant for the kerbalnauts when I need them home again) I would just send it back.

I wonder if the fact that it's clipping into the pod might be causing the problem.

You said you have KIS, so, maybe try detaching the antenna and reattaching it? I don't know if any of your crew are engineers or you brought the tools (well, the wrench probably should be enough), so you may have to send one over.
