There was a minecraft modder who got around that restriction by having kept clean installs of every version himself; he ran a diff-style process on each and distributed those plus a program for users to run that would undiff from their own current valid copy. It was pretty slick.

Someone somewhere has all the ksp versions.

IIRC, 0.13 was the last FREE version of KSP, and I seem to remember people posting and saying those were OK to distribute...But from 0.14 on, you had to PURCHASE your copy of KSP...So anything after 0.13 is not legal to distribute. (At least publicly...But that is another discussion).

Since KSP seems to update relatively quickly, every 3-5 mos., best thing to do is download each new update, and keep copies for yourself. (So far, you pay just once, and you are entitled to, IIRC, all future updates).
