The Red Glow of Annoyance

Is there any mod out currently that disables or otherwise gets rid of the annoying red glow parts get when they start to get overheated? It is extraordinarily annoying and it practically never goes away.

It's part of the temperature gauge system. Turn that off.

Is there any way to keep it off? Because that is almost equally annoying. I hate turning annoying things off just to have them turn themselves back on again in the next launch.

Indeed and if you don't turn it off and try to turn it off after the fact, it doesn't wipe the effect along with it.

What I don't get is why the heat overlay is on by default and the aerodynamic overlay is off by default. They should both be off by default.

It's not like you can do anything about it anyway... "oh noes, a part on my command pod that is reentering with no power is overheating, I know I can... pray?"

Heh, I asked about this 9 hours ago.

EDIT: Although:

The above test was run without turning the gauges off first. Welp, there's another bug for you - temp overlay gets stuck on permanently if not deactivated first.
