So did Apollo 11. The rover wasn't used until Apollo 15.

Good thinking! Not only is that a better choice because of your reason, but because I had a load of fuel left in not only the remains of the lander, but the remains of the command pod for the lander. AND the stage that brought my crew back to Kerbin. That would of been a much better decision. XD

No, there was a crew of 4, the 4 main Kerbals, and I returned them all. I know the Apollo 11 mission had a crew of three, but it doesn't really matter. :]
