Finally Conquered Moho (Pic Heavy)

After many hours of frustration, I finally have a somewhat efficient rocket that will reliably get one kerbal to the surface of Moho and back again in my career save. I don't have nuclear tech researched yet which made this even more frustrating.

I present the Thanatos MkII

First stage booster seperation

Second stage booster separation

Third stage stack separation, apoapsis is nearly at LKO (85km)

Circularizing

Fourth stage stack separation during interplanetary transit burn

Onward to Moho

Photo Op, Jeb switches to the lander

Coming up on Moho

Fifth stack separation during capture burn

Jeb spent all but the last two boosters on the KRV (Kerbin Return Vehicle) during the capture burn

Circularizing orbit

Lander is clear and preparing for descent burn

De-orbit burn

Looks hilly and steep...

Lucky flat spot

nearly 3000 Delta-V on the ground has Jeb feeling pretty good about this mission

Launch! Kerbin is faintly seen in the distance

Fuel tanks 3 and 4 away

Approaching the KRV, mono Prop. is tight to save weight, so Jeb has to do this efficiently

Almost there

Hooray! Jeb sets about transferring the remaining fuel as well as recovered surface data from the lander to the KRV

Jeb says his final goodbyes to the lander, it will be orbiting Moho for a very long time

Final booster separation on the KRV during the Kerbin transfer burn.

Jeb uses the remainder of his fuel to try and bring his speed down before entering Kerbin atmosphere

Jeb is really looking forwards to a cold shower
