Offset Changes orientation of parts!

As the pictures show. The parts change their orientation just by clicking any of the arrows to try to move the engine stack. This stops any way to place them as you can't get them back to where the middle engine was originally placed. The other side did not have this problem. It also possibly causes problems with fuel flow if not reversed. How do you get past this?

The mammoth on the other side is the same as the offset one except they are offset on top of each other. It is 5 engines not 1 and it worked. Also the fuel flow is still symmetrical in this setup. I've been having problems with it changing but still can't figure out what causes it. It will start taking from a different tank or only one side or some other odd configuration. I'm trying to get it not to do this and take from the tanks symmetrically.

I'm activating the offset on the middle hub that the middle mammoth is attached too.

I did not move the parts. I merely left clicked on one of the arrows to try to move them.

Hi Arugela, the editor tools automatically snap to an invisible grid centered on the parent part when in the default "Absolute" orientation mode.

To disable this, press F to toggle to "Local" mode.

This is an intended feature.

Hope this helps :)

I see what you mean, this looks like the same behavior you get when when using the editor tools to offset parts within cargobays.

The cargobay issue has already been reported, if this is the same then it will be fixed when the cargobays are fixed, if not then congratulations, you have found a very unusual thing.

If you would like to report this to the bug tracker please see the stickied bug reporting thread, you will find the link near the bottom, after the guildlines on acceptable bug reporting.

Though it may just be caused by all those attach nodes, the Hubmax isn't intended to be used this way.

As for your fuel issue, your craft file has an awful lot of clipping, that can give the fuel flow code problems if multiple engines are all on one node.

I just noticed something else. If you remove the central hub in that line of engines there are two nodes that disappear while you are holding it. It seems like it is somehow on both at the same time.

And the connections have been changed on the second hub that lost it's node. Those Hubs are all placed one after the other outwards to the side the long way. when you move it it doesn't move the hub on the end with it.

Edit: I took off those hubs and put them back on making sure they followed to the part I wanted and I can now move them how I wish. Not sure how they change their orientation. I placed them very specifically originally. And there were no mistakes in the placement when I started.

The hubs seem to be playing a part. But not sure why they kept changing where their connections were.

Except now it's come up again in a different way... And I found a different parent part to move that seems to let me adjust it...
