rover wheels

Recommended Posts

this isn't the first time i'm creating a rover but i just can't remember how to solve this problem.

my wheels aren't symmetrical.

i tried in both vab and sph but it ended up doing the same thing.

It shouldn't end up doing the same thing. In either the VAB and SPH you have either mirror or radial symmetry. The only difference between the SPH and VAB is which one gets default preference (SPH -> Mirror, VAB -> Radial). You can use the R key to change between them in either editor.

Rover wheels are best done in Mirror symmetry so they remain facing the same direction, but this means you can only place 2 at a time.

I'm going to hope you forgot to use symmetry by pressing x.

thanks, you're the man !

Some stock wheels can be tricky to place correctly. A rover can sometimes look fine in the SPH, but grounds out when you try and take it for a spin. I've found an angled girder segment between the Rover body and wheel can help. It might also be worth using the subassemblies screen so you can get the same set up front and back (assuming you're using mirror symmetry)
