Aerodynamic effects causing lag

Ksp usually run very smoothly with 60 FPS, but as soon as aerodynamic effect start, the fps drops to 30 or less.

I'm using KSP v. 1.0.4, and it's on steam.

I have the following parts in my PC:

i5 6600k

GTX 970

16 GB of ram running at 2133 MHZ

Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Hi bueskyd, there is a slider for the aeroFX in the Settings screen and in the flight screen options when you press escape in flight.

I just tried disabling aeroFX completely, it still happens.

There is a pretty severe memory leak with the reentry temperature gauges, if enabled. Press F10 before re-entry.

That was fixed already.
