Make Ladders more Solid

Recommended Posts

I've noticed when landed on a moon that the Kerbals have a bigger tendency to want to climb flags than ladders- you have to be lined up really precisely to get the go ahead to grab a ladder. I think making them solid or increasing the grab range would be a good improvement.

Yeah, Ladders need some fixing. I am a bit annoyed that Kerbals usually tend to fall and die when going EVA. Because they fail to grasp the ladder. That behavior is totally random. Remember to save before EVA. "Hard Mode" no saving arggh.. :sealed:

I've never had a problem with them grabbing the ladder... though they do have the annoying tendency to "creep" while they're on a ladder. That is, a Kerbal that's holding a ladder should just stay put unless I tell them to climb up or down; but (in a seemingly random fashion, I've never been able to identify why), on a case-by-case basis, they'll "drift". Sometimes it's upwards, sometimes it's downwards. Sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's faster. But in any given situation, it's constant, and I have to keep nudging the kerbal back in the opposite direction or he'll eventually float right off the end of the ladder. Re-entering and leaving the command pod doesn't fix the problem. Really wish they'd fix.
