Does anyone know what those numbers on the ends of the runway mean? Asking for a friend.

They are the runways magnetic direction. 09 means 090 degrees from north. 18 means 180 degrees from north. 27 means 270 degrees from north.

And just for the sake of completeness, the big white rectangles are targets for landing, and the thin strips tell you how wide it is. Real runways ( well, airport ones ) are a bit more complicated, but *how* much more complicated you don't find out until you start building one yourself

( yes I'm aware it doesn't have alignment numbers ). Also that is a UK runway before any pilots chime in.
