I need you to make a decision for me

If you want modern dogfighter, it is better for pure dogfighter. F-15. None of this multi-purpose crap that the us military seems to like going with. If not that, then the. A-10 Thunderbolt II aka Warthog

"The F-15 was favored by customers such as the Israel and Japan air arms. Criticism from the fighter mafia that the F-15 was too large to be a dedicated dogfighter, and too expensive to procure in large numbers, led to the Lightweight Fighter (LWF) program, which led to the USAF General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and the middle-weight Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet."

Hm?

I'd go with the STOVL version of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.

Yes, looks nice too, still liking the more rounded design of the F-16 more, but this F-35 looks kinda Wing Commander from certain angles, so I give her that! :D

The F-22 is the most advanced fughter plane on the planet, other air superiority fighters simply exist because they are cheaper (or better suited for other tasks like bombing)...

Also it looks better than anything else, i think.

I give it to you, the F-22 looks very good but the Rafale equals it, if no more. During the 2009 International Air Tactical Leadership Cours the Rafale had to fight against Eurofighters and F-22s. It beaten the Eurofighters 4-0 and 3-1 and it scared the F-22s a lot.

After that journalist said the F-22s had external tanks lowering their performances but pictures taken by the Rafale's targeting cam clearly shows they had no tanks, and if you want there is a video

you have to skip to around 2 minutes to see the actual dogfight.

During the exercise there were 6 engagment, une F-22 had a gun kill and the other 5 were ex-aeqo. The Americans also wanted to have only short range fight, unlike you would do in modern combat (the F-22 is stealthy but the Rafale is like "nah I don't need a radar my targeting cam can see thing 20km away)

And here are my sources, it's french but it's pretty much what I said 1 2

Also the F-22 does one thing well, air combat. The F-35 tries to do everything good but it makes it mediocre and the Rafale is good as a fighter and a bomber.

Well, modern state of the art air combat would exclude planes like the F-16, F-15, Su-27, etc. as even though they are widely used today they are considered 4th generation. The "pinnacle" of jet fighters would be the 5th gen fighters, of which I believe there are only 2 examples: The F-22, and the Sukhoi T-50 PAK-FA, so I would suggest one of these two.

I got some interest in learning about the F-22, yes it looks good and pull out too much Gs for the pilots (why they don't like the plane) but his computer is less powerfull than a Ipad2 and it can only communicate with other F-22s, murika has spent a lot of money trying to fix that but they have a hard time and the only real mission this plane had was almost failed and could have been done by an old plane (they found their target with social media, worth the money heh).

Also there are less than 200 planes and they cost a lot, you can get 10 rafales for the price of one F-22 and the total cost of development and tweaks make his price go to half a billion.

So yes, it looks good on air show but it might be the only thing they are good at.

And don't even think about the F-35, learn a bit about it and you will see it's just an expensive brick, the "revolutionary radar camouflage" is a 30 years old trick already used on the f-117

Yeah, this sounds about right. A cousin of mine is an Air Force mechanic and works on F-15s, when I last met him he had loads of bad things to say about the F-22 and F-35. The old planes are really better suited for the kind of things we're using them for anyway. ISIS/ the Taliban don't have enough radar sets to warrant the stealth capability, and the old planes can carry a much higher payload to pound enemy positions or shoot down enemy fighters (if they had any). If, say, the USA and Russia were to go to war, stealth fighters would probably prove to be less useful than their designers had hoped. The way technology usually experiences a huge boom in wartime, it won't be surpringing to see radar that will be able to detect F-22s and F-35s within a couple of years anyway.

Dont even get me started on how the F-35 will manage Close Air Support without a BigS 30mm gun!

Someone developped a radar that can detect the F-35, it uses vacuum tubes.

Always learn, don't juste let someone telle you something is good. Ask why, question yourself, learn everything. Because juste letting them got ideas into your brains is propaganda.

It really depends what the OP wants. A plane that is technically awesome? A plane that's "representative" - produced in large numbers and widely used? A plane that's actually been in dogfights? Or just something that looks dead cool? Different aircraft would meet those goals differently.
