Hey guys!

Im planning some missions to do in KSP but maybe I can use some ideas? Dont Listen To That Guy > b̶u̶t̶ ̶I̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶s̶u̶g̶g̶e̶s̶t̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶l̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶ ̶i̶n̶s̶a̶n̶e̶!̶

Thanks.

Here are some, all inspired by things I have experienced in game:

-Jeb is testing a new giant lifter. However during circularization burn, the pod snaps off but remains pressed onto the huge rocket due to the force. The rocket is stuck at full power and only stops when it runs out of fuel. Now Jeb is on an escape trajectory that will see him reach solar orbit in a few hours. Rescue him before he escapes!

-Two Kerbals stranded in Minmus orbit decided to return to Kerbin using their RCS packs, and put their periapsis inside the atmosphere, hoping to successfully aero brake. Rescue them before they reach Kerbin! (This is harder then it sounds, as you have to get into a retrograde orbit to get to them in time).

-Build a rocket with the most d-v you possibly can, then get it into an orbit exactly like Mun's, but retrograde. Once you get near Mun, burn ALL your fuel towards it, see how fast you can impact it.

Look at the challenges both here and on the subreddit. Things I've done that I found to be particularly interesting:

-Make a Minmus run on an SSTO spaceplane. Land it horizontally on the ice flats, then use a hill to take off horizontally again.

-Do a crewed Duna mission but your craft has to have accommodation for your Kerbals during the voyage, no traveling inside the capsule. Bonus: Make a separate orbital hab module for the trip and a Duna surface hab module so your Kerbals get live on Duna while they wait for the return transfer window.

-"Land" on the Sun and/or Jool.

-

Pass under one of the Mun arches while orbiting.

-Do a Mun run without ever orbiting Kerbin or the Mun, that is, launch straight up at the Mun and land.

-Take an ion powered hovercraft to Minmus and ride around.

-Make a lifter capable of orbiting 1,000 tons.

-Make a spaceplane capable of dipping outside the atmosphere without any rockets.

-Make an interplanetary mother ship capable of traveling to any body with detachable landers.

-Make a boat or submarine. Or an aircraft carrier with a detachable VTOL.

-Shoot down a satellite with a missile.

-Crash to ships in orbit, enjoy the Kessler Syndrome

-Go to Kerbin's North Pole and find the "aliens".

-Make a space cannon.

-That's all I have for now.

More of a challenge than a mission - since i don't know how you'd enforce it, but: Jumps

Make a rover that only has horizontal thrust, start in the bottom of a crater, full thrust until crest of crater then cut. How high can you go?

"Deliver parts" mission maybe? Like coordinates X/Y on planet/moon z needs [variable quantity of] part w dropped off (maybe an antenna, maybe a Jumbo tank, etc)

Such a moon vehicle was referred to as a "hopper" when NASA came up with the idea decades ago.

As for ideas...

Put a probe into a silly orbit somewhere just out side the Kerbin system, and then launch a manned mission to not only intercept it but bring it home.... That should keep you amused for a few weeks. :) (its not as easy as it sounds..... you will be making constant course corrections as you get closer.... then... fuel... never enough.... did I say weeks? try months. :)

2 serious options:

- Make a comet by taking a craft with claw and infinite fuel and push a size C asteroid into an orbit with PE within moho's orbit and AP 2 times the distance to eeloo with an inclination of about 15 degrees relative to kerbin's orbit

Then land a probe there using the claw. (quite fun and challenging to do)

- Go for a easteregg hunt, plant a flag at all the easter egg sites.

2 ridiculous options:

- Build a bridge over the canyon on dres.

- Put a lid on the mohole.

And then there is of course the grand tour option if you get really bored.

Try landing on all the planets and moons (except jool) in a single launch mission.

to make it harder you could do it without mining.

Oh yeah this is really fun! Make sure to use landing gear and not rover wheels though, because rover wheels break more easily.

How about a 90's NASA mission concept ( that ended being suplanted by the "New Horizon" one ) :

"Fire and Ice" ( really ;) That was the official work name , and as far as I know not a jib to a certain author :) )

Do a very low solar hyperbolic flyby in the way to Eeloo :D
