1.0.5 Cannot engage SAS "No Pilots" with Jeb sitting there

In a small rocket with a command module and Jeb, when I tried to activate SAS, I was told there was "No active SAA module or pilot.

Try making a screenshot from your gamedata folder?

I had the same problem... I removed all mods I had and reinstalled them one by one. So in my case it was KTwitter, after removing it everything works fine so far.
