Water launchpad

Since now boats and subs are easier I would like to suggest a water launch area. Maybe a dock i dunno. And definitely another building for building boats where the warning list thinks of boats and not rockets and planes. It gives u warnings like low buoyancy.

Maybe a shipyard? It might be possible to make one with Kerbal Konstructs but not the facility itself. It would have a launch point, though and you can select it in SPH/VAB.

I'd argue that it really doesn't belong in the stock game, at least not for a long while.

Not that I have everything against it, it's just that Squad is a tiny company with very constrained developer resources, which means they have to carefully pick and choose what to implement. Implementing one thing means not implementing something else. Adding this would be a fairly large feature, that has nothing to do with flying planes and spaceships. I can think of a lot of other features I'd rather see before they spent time on this one.

While they're at it, perhaps they could bring the runway at the island airport back down to sea level.

I agree, it doesn't have to be a full-blown shipyard, but at least some way so we don't have to wheel our boats for half a mile just to get to water.

It could be as simple as making a small lagoon or a bay in place of the grass next to the runway, so we can roll straight from the runway into the water. It may even be a good alternate runway for water planes.

I like the idea of just bringing some water closer to the runway. Aside from the convenience you mention, would also be a handy place to ditch planes that have last-minute control difficulty when approaching the runway.
