Crashed when loading plane

Recommended Posts

  • KSP version: Current 1.0.5 though Steam on Windows 7 64-bit
  • A detailed explanation of what happened and what you were trying to accomplish: From a flight, i attempted to revert to space plane hanger
  • A screenshot of your craft or any relevant screens : Crashed to desktop, no screen shots available.
  • A .craft file or save files if relevant: I was flying the Stock "Satellite launcher" space plane.
  • A detailed list of system specifications: Intel i5 cpu (2500k), 16 gig of ram, Radeon HD 6950 GPU
  • Are you running a clean installation, or have you updated and some of your persistence or craft files might be older versions, if so which version(s): Bone stock clean version from Steam (1.0.5)
  • The ouput_log.txt or player.log file KSP creates when it launches and, if applicable, the crash log KSP has generated when the program crashed : Far to big to paste in here. So i uploaded it separately.

Hi Wolfwood, the log doesn't say what caused the crash, did this happen once or is it repeating?

Also, are you overclocking in any way?

You look to have a lot of processes running at the same time as KSP, such as BlazeVideo, so please try shutting down other programs you aren't using while playing KSP.

I have not attempted to repeat the crash so i dont know yet.

No overclocking happening.

My normal background process are using ~ 10% of my cpu so i doubt it is interfering with it. Blaze wasn't an active program, just something running in the task-bar for detection. Everything else is related to the hardware in my machine (motherboard/video card support software).

Other programs still sit in memory though and some can actually cause instability in KSP, such as any program that hooks into memory to monitor the activity of other programs, the most recent example is PrecisionX, a graphics card monitoring and tweak application.

Blaze has memory hooks loaded, I know this because a hook module was in your taskmanagers process list, and this list is written to your log when KSP crashes like this, which is why I specifically mentioned Blaze, here it is.

C:\Program Files (x86)\BlazeVideo\BlazeHDTV 6.0\MMKeyboardHook.dll:MMKeyboardHook.dll (04980000), size: 32768 (result: 0), SymType: '-exported-', PDB: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\BlazeVideo\BlazeHDTV 6.0\MMKeyboardHook.dll'

I have not come across Blaze before so I don't know yet if it is a problem or not, but it is a suspect, so if you continue to have this issue I suggest you shut down Blaze fully, and possibly other programs as well which you don't need running.

Eh well, i dont end up using that program anyway so i just shut it down and told it to no longer load when windows starts. If i dont crash again that may have been the issue. Or it may have just been flat out random, who knows.

Thanks for the advice. I did play again last night, did a few contracts without issues (well, game stability issues anyway :P ) and it ran without incident (with blaze shut down).
