Parachute deploying on launch

Hi guys,

My first post here.

My parachute have started to deploy on launch.....I have no idea why :-)

I have set min pressure to the lowest/highest level and the same with altitude and still no changes. What to do?

Check your staging.

KSP has a strange way of handling staging in the VAB, things like launch clamps on the last stage or parachutes on the first are common.

You should try to remember to always verify the staging of a rocket before launching it.

As Gaarst suggests, check the staging. Are you familiar with the staging UI in the VAB? (stack of orange buttons at lower right) When you build a ship, the game arranges them for you in a certain way by default, but you can tinker with it by dragging buttons around and so forth to decide how it goes.

Yup, check your staging, if its wrong just drag the parachute icon to the desired section, or ad one first

Sadly it doesn´t do the trick. When I am on stage 1 for some reason stage 0 (parachute) has already been deployed (I think it has been deployed for it malfunctions at 300 m/s).

In that case, did you put the parachute in the 'stage' action group or whatever other button/option you use to launch?

Just so everyone knows:

Following PM exchange, this is not a matter of the 'chute being destroyed - it's the red warning-background on the chute staging icon.

Changelog:
