When in an equatorial KSO, how long is your ship in darkness?

I have received a Remote Tech contract (awesome mod) to place a satellite that can communicate with every body in the Kerbol system. The problem is that I have enough antennas to draw 13.85 e/s of electricity. I haven't unlocked the RTG yet so I'm limited to solar panels and fuel cells are out of the question because I'd like to leave the satellite there for a while and actually use it. I'm looking to stick with the stock parts aside the Remote Tech parts and I'm using the Asteroid Day probe core.

I seem to remember hearing that probes don't use power while not in focus but I'd rather be able to plan for enough power to do it legitimately. Edited November 17, 2015 by Racescort666
