XKCD Rosetta Landing

I made this a while back and intended to print it out and hang it somewhere but never did. I also sent it to Randall Munroe but he didn't respond or seem too interested. Thought I'd leave it here for you guys to enjoy. Or not. Do as you will.

I'm going to assume you haven't read the webcomic XKCD (just so that anyone who hasn't can read this explanation and get a full picture).

XKCD is a webcomic based in the science/tech/geeky universe that typically updates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week. Some like it and some don't. This particular day, the day that the landing unfolded, Randall updated the strip as the events took place. He was watching the live stream and creating the comic on the fly. I remember observing the comic and the live stream at the same time and feeling that it was in fact fairly accurate (minus some of the jokes and such).

The site devoted to this strip is still being updated periodically. You can find it here.
I am sorry you do not like fun :P
It had a few laughs (harpoons and whales in space). But it took so long to review every slide. And then to not even mention the biggest bounce in recorded history?

I'm actually a fan of XKCD. They are usually very fun!
You can not draw that which you do not know. The Bounce was only discovered and revealed days later.
If you'll notice, on the last few frames where there is not new text, the lander kind of tilts on its axis. This was done during the time where there was speculation about whether or not the grappling drills had worked and I took these frames to be a representation of that uncertainty.

Edit after reviewing the comic more closely: In fact, the first frame of the last row changes the "Have we landed on a comet?" text to "Yes, at least once." which is talking about the bounce. Edited by Tex Mechs Robot
