Part of Detroit is Suing Michigan....

So this is what I saw on the news today. Complicated? Yes. Amusing? Yes. Do I understand any of this? Not really.

Super condensed version:

Detroit needs money by the end of the week. Michigan offered $80million. Part of Detroit\'s government is suing Michigan because there seems to be more money that Michigan owes Detroit. Michigan is withholding all money until the lawsuit is dropped. Now part of Detroit\'s government is suing part of Detroit\'s government to drop the lawsuit against Michigan.

Or at least this is what I interpreted out of the story since I\'m not from the area and I\'m only living near Detroit for a couple months during an internship.

I think this is the story.

What\'s this? Americans trying to sue themselves out of the crisis? That sounds just like them. ;P

Sounds right. Here in America, if you don\'t like something you can just sue it.

Did you know they have warning on coffee cups here because a lady spilled it on herself, and sued the store? Now they have to have warnings.

I believe kerbals... Yes, kerbals! Would do better than a decent chunk of our current politicians...

I believe Kerbals might find this offensive. They can make rockets out of junk they find next to the road. Of course they would do better!

They sued themselves out of $80million?

Not really, although it seems that a judge threw Detroit\'s case against Michigan out earlier today. I have no clue about Detroit\'s case against Detroit though. I would assume that the one against itself kind of went away when the first one was thrown out.
