RAPIER-Nuke Engine?

I have a vague memory of seeing a post about a spaceplane that was powered by a RAPIER but suddenly, surprise! the RAPIER had a Nerv inside of it, clipped in there somehow. Does anyone remember this or have anything similar?

I remember seeing engines cliped into each other both in the forums and in videos.  I tried it out not too long ago where I clipped two whip lashes together to go absurdly fast.

I believe the way to do it is to create cubic strut both above and below where you actually want your parts, and then you use the offset tool to place them back in the middle.

Exactly how.

My one and only SSTO powerplant after 1.0 hit actually is the nuclear-rapier as i like to call it.  Rapier on end with a nuke attached to teh rear node on rapier, and well, offset tool inside the rapier/fuselage as well one, nukes are long and annoying, and 2, having a nuke sticking 3m outside the rear looks like crap for my designs.  Actually i almost always clip nukes inside whatever they are attached to, just dont like the way they look (too damn long).

Its a surprisingly good arrangement though, the nuke is the ONLY viable space engine if you care about range (well you have ions but im not patient enough for 1 hour burns or multiple shorter burns to raise AP, nor do i design very lightweight craft either).  The rapier is the atmo engine to get you as high and as far up as possible, and the rocket mode is nice to have for a speed boost when switching from jet to space, and it also helps landing on some places where that quick boost helps soften the landing (and saves your arse from a badly planned suicide burn that you underestimated).
