Contract Weighting

It was mentioned in the 24th November denotes that a new feature is being worked into the game that looks at the types of contracts players chose and weights things so that those types of contracts come up more often.  It seems to me that this mechanic can be tied into the admin building, with something like "marketing strategies".  Have the option to set up a policy that perhaps costs a bit of rep to set up, and lets the player boost the weighting for the type of contract they want to have.  You could run a "travel to space as a tourist" advertising campaign, or a "we can launch your satellites" marketing push, or perhaps a "Want to know if your parts work in space? Bring 'em to us and we'll test them for you".

One of my concerns about this contract weighting system is there are types of contracts I personally don't like (part testing ones) that I do a lot of early in the career because other types of contract are either not yet available (e.g. satellite launches need probe cores, tourist contracts need multi-crew rockets).  The addition of the 1.25 m crew cabin has fixed the most annoying of these, because it's now possible to construct non-ridiculous multi-crew ships earlier in the tech tree (i.e. before 2.5 m parts are unlocked).

Basically, my suggestion is to give the players some way of influencing the contract weighting by means other than actually doing the relevant contracts.

I like the concept of this idea.  It would mean that players can influence, but not control, the contracts on offer in a way that fits in nicely with the current system.
