Desktop Crash - Game Save

Recommended Posts

Not a question. In case I'm the only one that didn't know this - Yesterday, I was decoupling in Bop orbit when the program crashed to desktop. This morning, I started KSP and went into the tracking station. Noticed a ship on a Bop escape trajectory. The game had auto-saved just before I circularized yesterday. Only lost a few minutes work.

I thought the crash files were for error reporting. I always chuck them. I didn't know leaving them could restore my mission. At least I think that is what happened.

How do crash files enter into it at all?  It's just the save file, yes?  i.e. coincidentally, the game happened to auto-save to persistent.sfs right before going kablooie, so when you start up the game, it loads that file and you're good.

Figures... just thought I figured something new out. After your correction I realized this is the first time I have had a multi-moon mission going where I cared about not starting over in the middle of it. So... never mind.
