So I'm watching the director's cut of the 1979 Alien, and really getting into it, when I suddenly realized something stunning... horrible.... something I should have seen all along...

In one of the deleted scenes near the beginning before they land, Lambert, the navigator, finds LV-426 and says:
"There it is... Planetoid, 1,200 km."
Dallas, the captain, asks, "Gravity?"
Lambert answers, "0.86."
Ash, the science officer says, "You can walk on it..."

But at this point I had to pause it, because I'm freaking out a little... I recognize those numbers!!!

Diameter 1,200 km, gravity just over 0.8..... I quick double checked and got a cold chill down my back... I was right.

Arguably the most horrible planetoid in the all of Sci-fi is the exact same size and gravity as (arguably) the most horrible place in KSP:

Tylo.... :0.0:

Tylo, the moon that haunts my dreams... the only place that scares me worse than Eve... is really LV-426!!!!!!

I should have known... lol... I should have known....

SQUAD has to make an Alien easter egg on it, maybe a lone one at the pole?

Actually, according to the movie, they landed along the equator.

But if squad makes one, I ain't goin' near it!!!  lol.....  :0.0:

Aliens picked the best place... that bloody planet is -always- in the way. Wherever I try to go anywhere in Jool SoI, Tylo pops up and intersects my path or at least it screws my trajectory. I always suspected it does this on purpose. Now I know.

From now on, I'll start Jool missions with crashing an asteroid or two into that planet.. just to be sure.
