A kerbal's DMV photo

Is there a way to take DMV style shots of kerbals? I managed to get the free kerbalizer working, in the most recent version of Firefox, but it only does guys, and not the classic kerbal haircut.

I think I might be able create something using the aircraft cockpits, and a lot of time in Photoshop. But, before I do, I'm looking for the lazyman's approach.

Preference for a pure stock approach, but I am willing to look at mods.

DMV as in Department of Motor Vehicles?  Like crappy driver's license pics?  Hmmmm......

I suppose you want the Kerbals sans helmet.  In stock, this is only possible inside certain crew pods.  Probably the best for this purpose would be the Hitchhiker, the seats of which all face inwards.  Thus, you need 2 Kerbals, the subject and the photographer.  Put the subject in 1 seat, put the photographer in the seat directly across from the subject.  Go IVA on the photographer and you'll be looking directly at the subject.  Pan and zoom the view as desired, then wait for the subject to assume the pose you want with his random animations.  Screenshot, crop as needed, done.

If you want to build your own background, control the lighting, etc., you have several options involving mods.  First, to ditch the helmet, you need either KIS (where you can remove the helmet from the Kerbal's inventory screen) or TextureReplacer (where you can set it so the Kerbal spawns without his helmet).  Then you need to build the background for the Kerbal to stand or sit in front of, with whatever lights you want shining on it and/or the Kerbal.  This needs to be connected to a pod that the Kerbal will start in.  Launch this assembly, EVA the Kerbal and walk him in front of the background, position the camera as desired, wait on the animation for the pose you want, screenshot.  You could also have the Kerbal sit in a command chair in front of the background (walked to it or starting there via the TakeCommand mod).  However, then you just get a deadpan expression with no animation.
