Active mods - new to the community and having to wait hours to get posts approved.

As per the title - having to wait hours/days to have posts moderated as a new user is frustrating. Get some more mods, or have a system of +1000 posters be able to lock+hide a post for the mods that come in hours/days later to look at.

The queue is there to trap spammers and trolls, and it does a pretty good job. It's unfortunate that newbies have to wait a little before posts appear, but it means the forums can function quite well without having a huge overarching moderator team.

I'm sure if the team needs expanding, then the seniors or CM will ask for volunteers from the forum. I hope that helps, as the queue currently stands at 10 waiting posts, and it's not getting any smaller!

Gaps in coverage for the approval queue can happen, but in general the time to wait to have a post published averages at about 15-20 minutes. It's not ideal, I remember having the same frustration when I joined the forums back in 2012, but unfortunately it's necessary because of the targeted spambots that post on any forum with advertisements for everything from counterfeit Gucci accessories to fake diplomas.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
