How does the realistic solar system mod effect difficulty?

I found the 'Real Solar System' mod the other day and I was looking for advice. I have been assigned to demonstrate a mission to mars at my school for 'science week' however obviously I would have to use our real solar system (the 1/10th version). The problem is I have never used this mod and by no stretch of the imagination am I brilliant at Kerbal space program, don't get me wrong I'm not terrible but I'm exactly mlg. I don't have the time to try it and mess around with it currently so I was wondering if anyone had any advice about change in difficulty and general game style.

Define "easier."

If using 2.5m rather than 1.25m parts for your Mk1 pod is hard, then I guess it's harder. But to me, that just means you've got a lower payload fraction, not that it's harder.

Now, some of the limitations Realism Overhaul adds (like, say, limited ignitions, ullage, avionics, that sort of thing)--that makes the game genuinely harder. But I fail to see why "but I need a bigger rocket!!11one" is harder. :]

Right. And for rockets that are big but don't have ludicrously terrible fuel mass and engine mass ratios, check out SMURFF. I also highly recommend CryoEngines, and since you're going to be needing bigger rockets, I recommend SpaceY and SpaceY Expanded.

With procedural parts, it's fairly easy.  Just download it and play around with it.  If you can't get that to work, make a request in the spacecraft exchange for an easy-to-fly RSS rocket, there will be plenty of people happy to oblige.

Thanks, I'll try this when I have some time.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll give this a try.
