Kerbal jetpacks

Dang I HATE forurms....but anyway....I NEED HELP......kerbal stuck in space... WHY does his jetpack NOTwork..tried all the keys and he don't move...or is there something in the tech tree i missed....  I have 3 kerbals stranded in space there ship docking is not compatable with what i have. .... so i need to either activate  the jet packs or just blow up the ship.. been trying for 2 months to work this mess out....so any suggestions.. I know this is wrong place for this post.. but i don't know were to post this or were.

To activate the jetpack you have to press "R"

It works the same as the RCS system on regular craft.

Maybe the jetpack is out of fuel, that can happen, right click the kerbal to see. But otherwise if you have fuel, just do what Rocket said.
