Larger Landing Legs

I was trying to recover my ascent stage, and this happen...

I think KSP need larger landing legs for big craft

Wouldn't really work for an ascent stage...

The drag from legs on a stage that size is trivial to counteract with engine gimbal or fins (and yes, I've done it). You'd need legs an order of magnitude larger than anything we have now that make that stage feasible to land on end anyways

Issues with this particular ship aside:  there's certainly a good case in the game for having some bigger landing legs.

Check out Lithobrake Exploration Technologies by Necrobones. It adds bigger parachutes, service bays, lander cans, and of course legs.

I don't think you are getting the point, he is trying to land the ascent stage (SpaceX Style), not parachute it down.  You can't use the main engines with landing legs on the side.
