Is there ANY way I can boost my fps? I have tried turning all the graphics down to minimum, but even with that, it still lags.

Welcome to the forums!

If you've turned down the graphics settings and you're still getting lag, I'd guess it boils down to some combination of the following:

  • you're running on a low-end machine and/or graphics card
  • you're flying a ship with a very large number of parts (e.g. hundreds)

...Can you give a bit more specifics?  What sort of machine are you running on, and do you get this problem in all situations or only when you're flying big/complicated ships?

Welcome aboard.  If you happen to have an Nvidia GeForce card, be sure you have the GeForce Experience software installed, and use it to optimize performance for your various games.  This will create config files for the video card to make it work better with specific games.

I recently put a GeForce GTX 980 in my rig and at first my KSP fps was horrible.  Then I ran this program and that made it amazing.

As Snark said, it could be your craft. KSP does a LOT of physics calculations, and the more parts on your craft the more calculations your CPU has to do to keep up. As Unity can't use more than one core, this very often ends up being what's reducing your frame rates.

For example, I recently upgraded my video card and saw zero performance improvement in KSP, which would have disappointed me if I'd bought it for that purpose. :)

The 1.1 patch which should be coming soon should provide some boost in this regard as it's supposed to have CPU multi-threading of some sort.
