Is it possible to stop KSP from updating in Steam?

Don't use steam myself, but I believe you can simply copy the game folder to a different location (outside the steam folder?) and play from there.

Yeah, that's what I may do, but like I said, I really like having Steam log my hours, so I'm seeing if there are any other ways first before I start doing what you said.

I want to heavily mod KSP, but I also want to make sure I can play and use the mods even after a KSP update is released, and I would prefer it if Steam logged my hours too.

Here's what you do...

KSP has no DRM so there's nothing stopping you from copying your Steam installation from ....\Steamapps\Common: over to C:\whatever.  In fact, you can do this however many times you want and thus have any number of separate KSP installations on your computer.  Have 1 all stock, another with some mods but not others, and of course one with the same mods as your Steam installation (copy your saves there periodically and update the mods at the same time).  You can create desktop shortcuts for the KSP.exe in each of these separate installations, giving them all distinct names so you know what's what.

So, back to your current Steam installation.  Eventually, you'll see that KSP has updated to the new version.  At this point, copy your saves over to the non-Steam backup one more time, make sure the backup has all the same versions of all the same mods, and go on about your business.  At this point, the backup is now the main 1.0.5 game you were playing before, Steam has 1.1, and all the others are various 1.0.5 installations with different mods.

It used to be possible to just tell Steam to stop updating a game. Now they just force updates on you.

There is a setting to not update until you start the game. Set it to that option, then simply do not ever start the game thru steam. I just play straight from the .exe
