A small, very quick build I made a while ago when bored. Also working on a Spitfire that is coming Soon(TM). The wings may be off and the I-beams sticking out of the fuselage are intended to be skids, couldn't really improve it aesthetically (same goes for the necessary extra rockets in the back).

I'll admit this isn't as good as it could be...

I like it, its simplicity, and accuracy together make it really interesting!

How long does the fuel last? Perhaps you could clip some tanks into the fuselage to make it last 6 minutes like the real one?

I probably should clip some tanks, it barely has any fuel...

Haven't timed it yet, but it can climb to around 5k meters and have a tiny amount to return with

If I remember correctly, the Komet only had a flight time of like five minutes, so in that sense it's still accurate. Either way, it's a nice build. Well done!

Wasn't it a 5 min glide time, rocket ascent, gun pass, glide back to base?

Glide back to somewhere, base preferred but not guaranteed. I don't know a lot about the Komet, but just by looking at it, I'm betting it wouldn't glide too well...

Edit- Didn't they ditch the wheels on ascent? That kind of seems like a necessary component for the 'glide back to base' phase.

yep, this one does, and then 'lands' on skids

Wikipedia says 71/2 minutes of flight time

Quote

A typical Me 163 tactic was to fly vertically upward through the bombers flying at 9,000 m (30,000 ft), rise up to an altitude of 10,700–12,000 m (35,100–39,400 ft), then dive through the formation again firing as they went. This approach afforded the pilot two brief chances to fire a few rounds from his cannons before gliding back to his airfield.

Wikipedia is wrong, on full throttle, it had a 6 minute flight time, that is how much the tanks offered.

The Me-163A had a little more, but each refill wasn't exact, so it had 5-7 minutes.

However, the Me-163B had exactly 6 minutes on full throttle, the later variants having a better engine, would have 6 minutes, and 30 seconds.
