What's your favorite animal?

Peregrine falcons.  They do everything on the wing, don't mind building nests in cities, possess amazing eyesight and intelligence, and have the fastest diving speed known.  (If you get a chance to see one in person, do.  There are few other sights I've seen in nature that looks so heart-stoppingly inevitable as a peregrine falcon in stoop.)

I see peregrine falcons all the time, they nest on a cliff north of me a few miles, and we sometimes hear them vocalizing in mating flights over the house.

The cliff in the center of the image is actually a big wall call the Shield. From the town side (left) it's a wide slightly curved face, this image shows it from the side. They nest there on the side of the cliff, so it's closed to climbers (and even hiking just above/below) during the breeding season. My house is just to the left of this image, and nearly straight down a few thousand feet :)

Oh, this is hard.  I'm quite the animal lover.  Cats are definitely at the top, but we also have quite a bit of critters in our back yard.  We've befriended some squirrels to the point where they hang on our back door and take food out of our hands.  We also have a bird feeder, so we get quite a bit of different birds.  My dad is very partial to the tufted titmouse:

I'm also quite fond of the mourning dove:

We've recently just hatched some chickens, so I've been loving them, too.

Squids are pretty cool... and so are eagles...

And Amazon Red-Eyed Tree Frogs... and a sick interest in the Deep Sea Angler Fish...

and I admire the Stag beetle... and the Fiddler Crab...

And there will always be a place reserved for one of my favorites... the mog...(he's half man and half dog, he's his own best friend...)

I'm surprised no one mentioned cuttlefish. They are very intelligent, and can use their skin to flash patterns for communication and camouflage.

They can also see the polarization of light through W shaped pupils.

I have a particular soft spot for penguins, the Emperor Penguin in particular. Then I found out about the Adélie penguin, and my heart melted:

Apparently they have quite the personality too.

I'm also a pretty big fan of the Orca.

Favorite animal, hmmmmmm.

homo sapiens sapiens, gender female.

Honey badgers, a demolition derby using  stem packs as fuel. Not into athropods, monotrenes, bovine adipose tissue. The meercats are cool but they would see me as an intruder, its best to leave them alone, puppies are cool but needy, cats are nice if you have alot of wild things you want stacked on your doorstep, and the question really is do cats like you, or are just a covinient place to crash.
