PSA Stable planes

If your like me you hate that stable planes dive into the ground.  Well I have finally figured out how to fix this.

Start with putting on your main wing right at the COM

Then give it a positive AOI (angle of incidence).  The more AOI and the more wing/t you have the slower the plane will want fly straight and level

Then add the tail elevators.  Give them a negative AOI until the COM and COL are dead centered.

This does a couple things that are VERY nice.

1. If you are flying too slow your plane will dive to pick up speed.

2. If you are flying too fast your plane will climb to shed speed.

3. When flying just right it will fly nice and level

This makes SAS heading hold work much better. Currently SAS fights this diving tendency of stable planes however it is never really at the heading it wants to be so when you attempt to pull up just a little it resets it's heading lock which is now lower then the old heading lock and the plane dives further.

If the plane is too stable simply move the main wing forward and re-adjust the surfaces so COL and COM line up again.
