Altitude Pressure Graph

Hi all,

I just had a bash at answering a question about chutes and opening pressures and just realised I don't have any method of converting altitude to pressure on various bodies.  Has anyone every done one or do we know the (fairly simple I guess) equation Squad have used to model the pressure?  Ideally I like to be able to fly a test mission, note the safe chute altitude during descent, look it up on the graph and then next time pre-set my chute pre-open pressure.  Anyone able to help?

Cheers

(Maybe this actually belongs in game play questions now I think about it.....)

The wiki page on atmosphere has the equation that is used.  http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Atmosphere

p=p_{0}\cdot e^{{\frac  {-altitude}{H}}}

p is the pressure at a given altitude

p0 is the pressure at an altitude fo 0 meters

H is the scale height

P0 and H can be found on the wiki pages for each body in the Kerbol system.  It's on the right hand side of the page, under the Atmospheric Characteristics section.

EDIT:  I haven't visited the wiki in a while.  Apparently Kerbin has a modified pressure curve to mirror that of the Earth's.  It's up on Kerbin's wiki page.

While I haven't tried myself, I've seen people use kOS to read out a craft's sensor data and store it on the craft's kOS volume. From there one should then be able to copy the data to the kOS main computer, what means that the data will be copied to an actual text file on your HDD.
